Sending a large email attachment can sometimes be a real hassel. Why not host the attachment on a website for free? Email your friend the link and just let them download it. No registration required! I have to keep track of so many passwords these days.. at least for a hundred different systems. It would be almost impossible to keep them all in my head. So I store them in a password safe on my notebook. But the problem is I don't bring my notebook everywhere. So luckily this password safe application can run from a thumbdrive and even from a smartphone. And guess what... its FREE!!... readon... So happens there comes a time when you need to track whos been adding what to your documents, and how to revert back to last Mondays copy of a document. What you need is a software to manage the versions and track the changes done by whomever. What you need is a tool called subversion. I've been hunting around for some good document to go through the install step by step but could not find one short of reading an entire book on the subject. Windows Vista being new has many issues. One of the biggest issues is the failure to get ipaddress from DHCP due to Vistas new DHCP implementation. Since editing the registry and determining the adapter through GUID to apply the registry hack to fix the problem can be a pain for some. Since Microsoft bought the sysinternals company lets hope Microsoft keeps the sysinternals utilities free. This bunch of free utilities are definately part of your survival kit as a Windows user. This little kit of utilities lets you answer the questions like what the hell is svchost.exe running, why are there so many of such processes running. Even with a fantastic UI like Vista, sometimes hammering out a command on the keyboard has a nostalgic effect if you were born in the DOS era. But hey theres a utility that lets you re-live that DOS era only now, you can make your own commands.
